Cookie Policy

This page explains what cookies Lewis James Phillips uses, what they do and how you can control them. We keep cookies to a minimum, and nothing that is not strictly necessary is set until you tell us it is all right to do so.

What cookies are

A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit it. It lets the site remember something about you between pages or between visits — whether you are signed in, for example, or a choice you have already made. Some cookies are deleted when you close your browser (“session” cookies); others stay on your device for a set time (“persistent” cookies). Cookies set by the website you are visiting are “first-party”; cookies set by another service embedded in the page are “third-party”.

Strictly necessary cookies

These cookies are needed for the website to work and to keep it secure. They cannot be switched off, and the law does not require your consent for them. They do not track you across other websites.

Cookie Purpose Set by Expires
PHPSESSID Identifies your visit so the site can keep you on the right page, protect forms against forgery and, if you sign in, keep you signed in as you move between pages. Lewis James Phillips When you close your browser
cookie_consent Records whether you accepted or declined non-essential cookies, so we do not ask you again on every page. Lewis James Phillips 1 year
remember_me Only set if you sign in and choose to stay signed in. Lets the site recognise you on your next visit without asking for your password again. Lewis James Phillips 30 days
ec_cart_token Remembers which shopping basket is yours, so the items you add are still there as you browse and when you come back. Contains a random reference only, no personal information. Lewis James Phillips 30 days

Analytics and marketing cookies

We do not currently use any analytics or marketing cookies. The cookie notice you see on your first visit records your choice so that, should we add such tools in the future, they are only ever loaded with your permission.

Third-party content

Some pages may embed content from other services, such as YouTube videos or Google Maps. When such a page loads, the service providing the content may set its own cookies, over which we have no control. Their use is governed by that service’s own cookie and privacy policies.

How to control cookies

You can change your mind about non-essential cookies at any time. To be asked again, delete the cookie_consent cookie for this site in your browser, and the cookie notice will reappear on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies altogether through your browser’s settings — every modern browser lets you see which cookies have been set, remove them and refuse new ones. Bear in mind that blocking the strictly necessary cookies above will stop parts of this site, such as the contact form and signing in, from working.

Instructions for the most common browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge.

More information

How we handle the personal information some of these cookies relate to is explained in our Privacy Policy. Our contact details are at the foot of this page.
