Environmental and Cultural Photographer

“Light makes photography. Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light. Know it for all you are worth, and you will know the key to photography”. – George Eastman

My passion for the environment and people are what makes me a photographer. The goal to show and tell, give the viewer an opportunity to look and time to reflect. By photographing on a large format camera, I also have the chance these days to take the time and reflect on the purpose of the image before the shutter opens.

As I have moved forward with my work it has changed greatly. I wish to explore avenues that were not even apparent to me 10 years ago. The environment is key to my personal work, like most things important environments are dwindling, we even pass them by without notice. Being a large format photographer makes you think and see things very differently. The finer details of the negative are truly amazing allowing you to feel part of the landscape.

“Photography is more than a medium for factual communication of ideas. It is a creative art.” – Ansel Adams
